CDX just sounds at one speaker

Just bought a beogram CDX. Discovered that it just sounds at one speaker. Anyone an idea of this being a relatively simple reparation or is it a total-loss?

Have you checked inside the RCA connections for a loose wire? Always best to check the easy things first.

    Yep, I second Craig's advice.

Try wiggling the wire at the point where it feeds into the RCA connector and you may hear some sound. Very often the connection is broken internally.

To fix this, chop off the connectors and solder new ones on.

Ehh. just tested another (known 100% working) CDX on the same beocenter 9300 and: same result.(sound at only one speaker) so it's the 9300 aux that is at fault. Also connected both machines to a beocenter 9500 and both worked well what confirmed the diagnosis. However, pulling the white/black(L) RCA connector apart while playing a CD doesn't make a audible difference?? Is this normal? why connect it then?

Have you tried connecting it to the Tape 2 input? - that should work.
