Take a look at somthing which turned up this week in my local B&O shop...the earliest known example of a white BeoLab 8000....

Oh, I'd be like a kid in a candy store if I were in that back room. All those wonderful cardboard boxes with the B&O logo. Those familiar smells of antistatic wrapping and styrofoam...

Getting back to the picture? What a novel way of packing a BL8K! From what I can tell the white cover gets pulled off the BACK of the speaker, leaving the grille wrapping to be removed.... Interesting. Was this speaker sent in for service?

Or is this REALLY a white BL8K under wraps?

    -Sal

P.S. That rectangular box which has the B&O logo on it's side (placed vertically). I have a sneaking suspicion it's a BV8!

Love B&O, but no longer addicted.

This is a BL-8k which has been brought in for service, yes...but that is not a shipping carton...that is an enclosure apparently commissioned by the owner.  This is the way the speaker is displayed in the home.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And I certainly don't have that particular "eye." Thanks for sharing, Russ. I wonder how many other B&O products have been altered by their owners... I recall seeing some custom Beolab 5 grills with artwork a while back... I really liked them (BL5 grills with artrwork), but when modification seems to take away from the initial design brief, I don't know how I feel about that.

Sorry, but that thing isnt at all nice, looks like a cheap computer surroundsound speaker, or something from a bathroom furnishings catalogue.

That is horrific, especially considering how beautiful that speaker is. Umm re trim the grille with white cloth? YUCK Sad

Re: First look at white speakers?

Is the item in back of the speaker an office machine, or is this how the customer altered his Beolab 5?
