Nearly there now! I have a beautiful Beomaster 3400 from Lee and a rather lovely Beogram 6000 courtesy of Craig, so now all my dealer and I need to figure out is how to get them up and running. Initially we'll just test that everything works in stereo, then I'll purchase a new quad-compatible stylus from Soundsmith and we'll see how we can get a full quadraphonic signal into the Beosystem 3 and out to the speakers.
At the moment, my Beogram 5500 feeds through a Beomaster 5500 and then into the system via a Beosound 2300. Can we simply hook the Beomaster 3400 up to the Beosound 2300 in the same way and get stereo sound?
For stage two, someone suggested we digitise the four quadraphonic outputs from the Beomaster 3400 via this device:

and feed that input directly into the Beosystem 3. Will that send correctly decoded SQ and CD4 quadraphonic signals to the two front (BL5) and two rear (BL3) speakers? Or does anyone have any other ideas how to get those signals allocated?
As always, thanks for everyone's help... your good advice has got me this far!
