    Any views on Beovox 2700???

    Hi

Have across a pair of Beovox 2700 on my hunt for something else but can't seem to find any info on them (at least not in the usual places!).

Thought I'd ask here and see what people thought of them and how they compare to others in the range?

    Cheers

The fact that they were one of seven items designed by J Jensen that were chosen by New Yorks Museum of Modern Art to display in 1972, must count for something!

Well done Andy, I don't know anything much about these speakers, but someone on Beoworld certainly does otherwise the details would not appear on the Beoworld web site.

It is interesting to note that in my old list of Beovox speaker information the numbers jump from Beovox 2600 to 3000 !!Confused

    Regards Keith....

..and so does someone on Beocentral, but they don't know much about them either. Very illusive, eh?
We'll have to contact the Museum of Modern Art in New York!

I believe the copy came from the old site - I can't remember who wrote it but the situation remains that it doesn't really describe what they sound like! They are touted as companion speakers for the Beocenter 1800 in the 75 brochure - in the manual section. I am afraid my copy of this was from Struer Radio and hence in Danish!

Didn't listen to them - but I did have a pair which I've subsequently taken to bits - wish I'd kept them now! They had foam rot though...

The tweeter was a Seas 2" dome as seen in the BeoVox 5000mk3 which was of course of the same time period, can't really say I remember what the mid/bass driver was! I seem to remember it looking like a Peerless design with the unusually large dust cap and very large surround. Mine were in teak, and horrifically scratched.

I have one but no pair to it. Its in good nick, teak and if any one wants it they can have it or its going to the dump! Hate to chuck it but its no use to me.

So no-one knows what they sound like?  This must be a first for Beoworld!

    Thanks for the replies though.

the one I have sounds quite good. A pair would sound twice as good!

Not quite, most of us haven't heard the speaker on top of the singing van, either.

I can see how MoMA picked them. A box must've been groundbreaking design in 1971!
