    Beolab 4500 parts

    Hi Folks

I have a pair of Beolab 4500 and I am desperately looking for parts!

I need these aluminium covers and the plexiglas panel for both speaker.

Does anybody here know where I can get these parts?

    Thanx very much.

    Noah.

    Don't hold your breath!

These items are very, very rare. The main reason why mint examples of these speakers are relatively expensive.

    Regards Graham

    Thank you for yur answer!

So I thought. But very rare does not mean these parts are no more available!? Do you know any source for such things?

I have a set of the plexiglass panels which I had replaced because they weren't perfect -- cannot remember the defect with them.  Do you want me to have a look?

Hey! Thank you for your offer. That would be very nice if you could have a look on the set of plexiglass panels.

    Kind regards.

    Re: Beolab 4500 parts

    Hi,

I have managed to locate the panels.  Here are their condition:

Panel 1:  On the plastic portion, there is a spot in the plastic next to the display window that has "clouded" over -- depending upon the viewing angle, this may or may not be visible.  On the blue aluminum, there is a small scratch and small indent in the very lower left corner -- again, depending upon the viewing angle, this may or may not be visible.  On the side of the blue aluminum, towards the back, there is a small noticable scratch [perhaps more like a gouge type of damage?].

Panel 2:  On the plastic portion, there are some minor superficial scratches, with one being about 1/2 the length of the plastic.  Perhaps another member can advise whether these scratches can be buffed out.  The blue aluminum seems okay other than some sticky gunk [probably the result of being in storage for the past 5 years] which I will try to clean up and is not that visible.

    Hope this helps.

    Re: Beolab 4500 parts

Hi. Sorry for my delayed answer!

That sounds as the items are in a good overall condition, don't you think?

What about the scratches of the plastic portion of PANEL 2 which is about 1/2 lenght of the plastic? Are these deep scratches or not?

Are there deep dents on the aluminium parts?

Do you consider to sell these items to me? If yes, how much money do you want for them?

Thank you very much for you help. Thats very kind.

    Regards, NG.

PS: How do you managed to take these parts away from the speakers??

    Re: Beolab 4500 parts

Sorry for the delay in my reply.  I have been otherwise engaged.

I will attempt to take some photos for you showing the scratches and dents.  Would you like me to send the photos to your e-mail?  Alternatively, I can post them here  [I am not sure if we are allowed to do that.  I can try to post and the moderators can remove the photos if they are inappropriate.]

As for the price, I don't know what would be a fair price.  Perhaps members could assist us with that.  I should be able to locate the receipt from B&O so that we know what I had paid to replace them.  I do not know how to disassemble these parts.  The work was done by a B&O technician.  However, I believe other members [perhaps Graham?] on this site should be able to assist.

    Thank you.

You can send the photos to my e-mail if you wish: noah.grossmann@hotmail.com

I will post a new thread here concerning how to disassemble the parts and perhaps how much these parts are worth now.

    hank you very much.

Noted.  Will try to get to it this weekend after I had a chance to borrow a decent camera.

    Thanks.
