I know how to fix the "flash" problem with BV7-40 Mark III when looking at bluray

Hi, follow this instructions below, then you will get rid of the "flash"-problem when looking at 1080p with Beovision 7-40 MarkIII/Beosystem3:

    1. Upgrade your TV with sw 4.0 or higher

    2. Go into the "picture"-meny when looking at 1080p-source. Turn the "size" parameter to maximum or one step below maximum. This will zoom the picture a little but not much.

Now, you will NOT see any flashes down the screen anymore. It is important that you put the "size" potentiometer in the picture-meny to maximum or 1 step below maximum, otherwise you will se the flashes.

I hope this will solve the problem for ALL of you!

    Regards

    Martin

There is a lot of threads hear at the forum about this problem. When you look at 1080p-source (blu-ray) you will se flashes sometimes at downleft of the screen. It is very anoying. You will not see it when you are looking at SD-content, just when you are looking at 1080p-content.

OK thanks for the info. I don't use Blu-Ray at the moment, I will wait until they update the module, providing they do. However, I do notice some annoying bars on the top of my screen on some DVD playback, Star Trek The Next Generation does it at times. Do you suppose this would be fix if I upgraded the software?

Yes, of course is this a temporary fix. We should not expect this issues with a TV which costs £10.000. I think B&O is very slow to fix this problem. And they are even slower to fix the 24fprs issue. 80% of the other brands LCD:s with 40-inches or higher support today 1080p/24, but B&O does not! But I have to say that the 7-40 Mark III make the 3:2 pulldown very good when you compare this with other LCD TV-brands which not either support 24 fprs.

    Bv7-40 Mk111 with 4.2 software
I get this white flash on my Sony Ps3 Blu-ray ,  thin horizontal white line at the bottom left of the picture but only on the disc home screen ( play , chapter ect. ) not during the film . Still can't get all speakers to come on by default , have to select Speakers 5 or go into the Sony menu AV settings and change to Bitstream from Linear PMC , this change forces all speakers to come on . But next time I use it still no rear speakers and have to change back to Linear PMC .  Anybody know what the difference is between Bitstream & Linear , Bitstream give's ' Dolby Dig. Multichannel '   &  'Linear give's ' Dolby Dig. 5.1 ' on the Sony top screen menu   ?

You must change this in settings - BD/DVD settings to Bitstream. Then it works as default

I am unsure, but I have never updated it since I bought it in November, so whatever the original software version was, is what I have. Do I only need to be concerned if I want to use BluRay or HD DVD players? Thanks.

Yes, the flashproblem just occurs when you are looking at upscaled DVD (1080p) or Bluray/HDDVD (1080p).
