    beocom 6000 set up

    Hi Beoworld,

I just got another beocom 6000. It has a base and a phone line. I already have one of these.

I am trying to get it to sync with my other phone, When I press the button on the base to get to the register part, nothing happens.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks,

    KVM

    Welsome to Beoworld!

You also need to switch on the handset and press the call button on the phone so it will try and register as well as open the base to registrations.

Lets be clear about what you are saying here.

You have an existing Beocom 6000 phone and base, which version is it ? Meaning is there a black DOT at the 9 o'clock on the dial or does it have the letters INT ?

You have purchased another Beocom 6000 with base as well. Is it the same version as the one you already own ?

    Regards Keith....

    Re: beocom 6000 set up

So, both handsets are Mark I's

If you have followed the previous advice by:-

    • Pressing the button on the base and hold it for about 2 seconds until the indicator light on the base flashes.
    • Press the phone symbol and it should  say REGISTER BASE ? you then press OK

If the above does NOT work then it means that your purchased handset is still registered to the previous owners base and you will need to un-register it first.

To un-register the phone you need to:-

    • Go to the MENU item called HANDSET/BASE by pressing 7
    • Turn wheel to find REMOVE BASE then press OK
    • Turn the wheel to select the base you wish to remove if it was registered with more than one base then press OK

Once you have de-registered the handset from all bases you can then go base and register it with your base.

If you get a request to add a pin code then use "0000" but due to a software bug this prompt will also occur if you have 6 handsets already registered with your base.

    Regards Keith....

    Re: beocom 6000 set up

    Hi Keith,

I was able to unregister the phone.

This phone I am trying to re-register has a phone line from it's base also.

This is the "new" second phone phone I am asking about. I have this same model, have had it for years. So I now have two exact phones with phone cords and bases.

Am I going to be able to register this "new" phone to my old phone's base? That option won't let me type in my older base number?

Do I need to press down the button on the base and do something there?

You should now be able to register that phone to your old base by again holding down the button on the old base and press the ok on the new handset. Just plug the new base into a wall socket and wrap up or remove the phone jack cable, to use the new base as a charger only.
