It is Beoplayer running in Windows running on a Mac using VMWare in fusion mode (that mixes Windows windows with Mac OS X windows).

I had it installed in that way for a while. Looks exactly like that.

    Hello

How does it work together with a Macbook in PC-mode installed with Windows XP Professional?

You have 3 ways to run Windows on an Intel Mac:

     Bootcamp

    WMWare fusion http://www.vmware.com/products/fusion/features.html

    Parallel

    --

With bootcamp you've got to reboot your mac into a PC mode

With the 2 others you can start a virtual PC like you start a program on your mac.

You can run the PC inside a window on the Mac or can activate a mode that mixes Mac and PC windows. VMWare is better at doing this.

Mac run PC software very fast. Even in virtualisation mode. Actually the fastest laptop under windows is the MacBook Pro...

    Excellent!

Do you know which TV tunercards are supported by beoport-mac with VMWare?

It is Beoport PC that is running, there is no Mac version.

Except for the Mac Pro, you cannot install an internal Tuner card in a Mac.

If a USB Tuner works with Beoport, it is very likely it would work in VMWare as well.

    Ok.

The question is if a USB Tuner would work. At the moment, only tv tuner pci works.

    Thank you.

For people with a Mac, you can use a software called BM-Link instead of Beoport, it has some restrictions, but it also has some advantages.

It only works as a server (Option 6 or 4), you cannot listen/view to main room sources from the Mac.

But... it uses iTunes music and radio library and play all music that itunes can play.

Beo4 controlling works as with the PC version (using color buttons, etc...)

It sends artist names, album names, etc... for display on the main system.

It can control Frontrow locally if you add an IR eye.

It is not fully working in Leopard, the latest operating system that was just released, but i am sure a fix fill come soon.

It is in the specs but not released yet, I read a while ago.

But I also read that without software you can already place music and download photos on the serenata, from your mac.

    Öhm,

if I use Beoport in my PC (which actually is a Mac but running Windows by Paralles, for example), can I still use iTunes for playing my music, or does Window version require using B&O's software? If Leopard version is not up and running, this would be the only way to go, but useless if one wants to stick with iTunes???
