Re: PIN-code issue after switching off my BeoSound 3200 for a few months
Sounds like something else in your MasterLink system also needs a PIN perhaps? This can shut the whole system down after a few minutes play.

No, I haven't any device protected by the PIN-code besides BS3200. AV9000 haven't this feature at all.
BS3200 plays only in the MasterLink system and max 1-2 mins then it shuts down.

Re: PIN-code issue after switching off my BeoSound 3200 for a few months
I had a "no sound" problem after disconnecting my speakers (Beolab5's)....they played for 3-4 mins and then stopped/......... and they required a pin.....i didnt have a pin, so i phoned my B&O dealer in Dublin and he was able to get me the corract pin after comfirming I was the owner of the speakers.....
BeoVision 7-40 MKIV with BeoLab 7-4 Vertical speaker, BeoSound 9000 CD/Tuner, Speakers are a pair of BeoLab 5 in Black with a pair of BeoLab 4000 as rear speakers, and in bedroom BeoCentre 6-26 with BeoLab 8000's. Both the Kitchen and bathroom have Beolab3500's. BeoCom 2 and BeoCom 5 phones. Beo 6 and Beo4 remotes. LATEST ADDITION: Beogram 7000 with MMC2 stylus....

Re: PIN-code issue after switching off my BeoSound 3200 for a few months
JIeo:
How can I enter my own PIN-code or reset it? I have some repair experience! Or I only must take it over to service centre?
Reading that line it sounds as though you can't remember the code - is that correct.
If it was working before you turned it off, you need to put in the pin code it was working with 2-3 months ago. It may have been put in by the dealer or by you. If you do not have that original pin code because the dealer forgot to tell you, or you forgot it, you will need to contact the dealer to give you a "unlock" code so you can reset it and put in a new code.

Re: PIN-code issue after switching off my BeoSound 3200 for a few months
Dear Stoobie, thanks for Your assumption, but I used this BS3200 for 4+ years. I set this PIN-code 4 years ago for the factory unlocked device (I don't know for what I set up this imbecile PIN-code!?!? ((((( ). I assure you that I know and remember my PIN-code, but I can't tape it because BS3200 doesn't offer this possibility, instead of this BS3200 doesn't react for any keys of its front panel any more after these 2-3 months switching off.

Re: PIN-code issue after switching off my BeoSound 3200 for a few months
Be sure that robber easy deactivate PIN-code, but an honest man will pay a lot of money. I know that ONLY diagnostic was more than 100EUR in Russian service 4 year ago. Well I have to prepare Money...

Re: PIN-code issue after switching off my BeoSound 3200 for a few months
I would just like to try any soft/medium/hard(?) reset if it possible for this model myself. It may get something moving and BS3200 offer me to enter PIN-code in the same way as before.
If it's inpossible, I will barely take it to service ((

I am afraid the only reset is a mains reset.......
Are you having in mind the power cord?

yes, he means unplug it from the wall for a minute or so
First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*

Re: PIN-code issue after switching off my BeoSound 3200 for a few months
I have done this operation for various time lengths several times - without any success.
Its red LED only illuminates, but it's required of its red LED to blink as before.

Hi again JIeo,
The user says:
The use of a PIN code means that if your music system has been disconnected from the mains for more than approximately 30 minutes, it can only be activated again by switching it on and keying in your own personal PIN code via the close-up operation panel.
If the PIN code is not entered, the music system automatically switches to standby after 3 minutes.
If a wrong PIN code is entered, you get five attempts to key in the code, after which the system is switched off and cannot be switched on for 3 hours.
Maybe you have to wait for 3 hours before trying again. Also, it says you must use the numbers on Beosound 3200 (not on the remote control)

Hi Jleo,
This problem seems very similar to my problem; see post:
http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/t/42949.aspx
My beosound 9000 is currently at my dealer for service. I will let you know the outcome.
Regards,
Dennis

I like being right in most cases. This is not one of those...... Let's hope it is solved by just replacing the EEPROM. Keep us updated!

Hi Dennis,
Thank You very much! I will wait Your updates!
I wouldn't like to spend
400 EUR + 50-100% of Russian B&O service extra charges. I think that I could buy some used operable BS3200 for ~800 EUR with luck of course. I acquainted with a lot of notebook repairers, maybe they can help me with EEPROM?

Re: PIN-code issue after switching off my BeoSound 3200 for a few months
That's idea! All the more so this EEPROM can be replaced relatively easyly. Is it true that I replace original EEPROM by new unprogrammed microchip and BS3200 must work if problem is EEPROM without any programming?
P.S.: What is the second removable microchip in close to EEPROM?
P.P.S.: Where can I find processor?

Re: PIN-code issue after switching off my BeoSound 3200 for a few months
Well, testmode showed:
BS3200 can't default its settings:
TM31: "TM ERROR"
TM37: "TM ERROR"
TM28: "MEM +++", in other words:
ROM - OK
RAM - OK
EEPROM - OK!
But BS3200 have 1 fresh error:
TM27: "1 IOP 19" - error in the I/O microprocessor: TP (Transport Protocol, Transactional Process?) module HW (HardWare?) error APOS (Action Process Object And Scheme?). Somebody know what does it mean? What's wrong with my BS3200?
Added:
TM01, TM02, TM03, TM04, TM06, TM07: "WRONG TM" for some reason while RADIO works perfectly in slave mode...

Re: PIN-code issue after switching off my BeoSound 3200 for a few months
I believe nobody knows (((
The www.avaservices.co.uk answered the following:
"
It is not possible to give accurate fault diagnosis from 3rd party investigations. However, we have had a 3200 which had a micro world fault that gave similar symptoms.
The fault may be a corruption between the micro and EEprom. In this event the unit would need workshop attention to have both replaced.
...
The cost of Micro, EEprom, software and interface for a 3200 is £492.19 + vat and carriage.
"
I suppose it will be more than £600 ((((((
