    Microsoft Vista

I have a new lap top that runs on Vista Home Basic.  Anyone familiar with this software who can assist this technological dinosauer?  [Is there a Dummy's Guide available in the bookstores?]  So far, I have managed to:  turn on the lap top; play a CD; set my background wallpaper and set the screen saver.

What are you trying to do with Vista?

    Re: Microsoft Vista

Anything.  I am quickly frustrated and intimidated.  I am feeling helpless and hopeless.  Sad  Is there a conversion table of some sort showing the old [Office 2007] and the new [Vista] features?  Should I send you a PM with a list of stupid questions?

    Time to convert to Apple?

If you want to send me a PM Wings that is fine. Can't promise to answer all your questions but I will have a good go. Had a Vista PC for a few months now. Still think XP was better IMO.

    Hi, Craig.

That is most kind of you.  Thank you.  I will PM you once I get myself organized.

    Happy new year!

    Re: Microsoft Vista

I REALLY dislike Vista, and I am stuck with it on one or our computers.  Many are now sold with the ability to go backwards on Vista to XP.  Maybe yours? Rumor has it that XP Service Pack 3 will make Vista look even more silly.  Good luck.

    Re: Microsoft Vista

Unfortunately not.  The laptop came bundled with Vista.  The only option was to upgrade to Vista Premium.  I will work my way through this with lots of help from me mates.  It is amazing that they have a user's manual that tells me where everything is located but not how to use them -- unless they forgot to pack some other user's CD or manual.
