    Beogram 4002 Glass Platter

Hi, I have a vintage Beogram 4002 turntable recently refurbished and working fine. I have a memory of seeing an optional glass turntable platter offered as an accessory for this turntable and it had a weight to hold the record flat on the platter to enhance the sound. Does anyone have any information on this product? Was it a B and O product? Is it worth trying to track one down if it does exist?

    Thanks

A modification! Seems to have been an American idea and could be combined with a tone arm modification to allow the use of Grado cartridges.

No! That it how they were listed - this gram was for sale on eBay some time ago. I copied the pictures! Laughing

So I see that this thing does exist. Other than ebay anyone have an idea where to get one? And what is it called? Was it available for other models or just the 4002?

There was a group of American enthusiasts who did this. Perfectly possible to do it yourself  I suppose. Never felt the need myself but it is essentially a mirrored glass disc with black strips on it. The spindle may need to be longer for the clamp. A closer view of the platter.
