How to solder the connector for a B&O mic?

    Hi,
I have recently purchased a BEOMIC 2000 from Bang & Olufsen. But I don't know how to solder the connector. The mic came with the original connector unsoldered, a standard guitar connector with only two terminations. But as you can see on the picture the cable has two cords and a shield. Does anyone know how to solder them? Can I connect an XLR to the cable? It's a ribbon mic.
    Thanks!

Is the connection a 3 pin DIN type? If so I think you wire it up the same as a Beogram. When I had a Beomic8 I wanted to sell on Ebay, I tested it through the Turntable connection of my Beomaster 1000.

Looking at the top diagram (Audio Aux Link). You should have pins where 1, 2 and 3 are located.

    Thanks for your reply!

No, the connection wasn't a DIN, it was a 3,5 mm jack plug. I will try to solder a standard XLR connector. Shield to pin 1, red "hot" to pin 2, black "cold" to pin 3.

    I hope it works!
