    Open DVDplayer by remote

Can the DVDplayer of the BV7 be opened by remote (Beo4/5)?

    Hi Doc,

Sorry, I don't know about the BV7, however the avant built-in dvd player cannot be opened with the beo4 if a disc is charged (only opens automatically if the tray is empty) but now I can open it with my Beo5 by using the IR command "eject" Smile

    Good luck.

    Hi Santiago,

Thanks for your reply. My Beo5 will arrive soon (is now being programmed). Hope it can operate the eject of a DVD.

How do you like your Beo5?

A "magic" device indeed, with real B&O touch: high quality and very solid, fully customizable: aspect, commands and macros...
very happy with it Yes - thumbs up

    Good luck.

    Hi Doc,

The "eject" command in the beo5 must be added manually because this command is not present by default, so you must ask to your dealer to add this command specially for you.

     Good luck.

I have thought this would be a useful option for my DVD1 (via Beo4) but on reflection why? If you require the tray to be opened/closed surely you must have either just placed a disc in or want to remove it. In both cases you will be in front of the unit and able to press 'eject' with your finger!

One annoying thing however with the DVD1 button layout is that having placed a disc in the open tray, the tray then masks the 'play' button so a finger has to go under the tray to the 'play' button or 'eject' has to be pressed thereby closing the tray and revealing the 'play' button.

If B&O are so good at design, why is this?

Finally. why label the 'eject' button with the word 'eject' when it closes the tray also! Why not 'open/close' ?

    Re: Open DVDplayer by remote

    Kokomo,

My reason for wanting it to be controlled by remote is: it varies a lot how long it takes before the tray of the DVDplayer opens. I think it will be much quicker by a single press on the remotebutton.
