    BV 7-40 High Definition Tuner

    Hi everyone,

I am looking at purchasing the BV 7-40 (III)  and was wondering if the inbuilt DVB can process and display High Definition pictures?

If not, does anyone know if B&O will bring out a DVB that can do so soon?

    Regards,

    Jon

No, the DVB-T/S module dissent handle HD stream.

Maybe sometime next year or not... B&O do not put so much weight or effort in the DVB-T or DVB HD sadley...

    Regards

Thank you for advice. Its a shame that B&O doesn't put more effort into the DVB-T.

The North American version has an ATSC/QAM tuner that works with either terrestrial or unscrambled cable digital broadcasts. I have verified it with my own set. HD broadcasts are of course properly received.

I am curious:  Is there a common standard for digital TV broadcasting in Europe or the technical specs change from country to country?

    Regards,

    Jean

Re: BV 7-40 High Definition Tuner

We have DVB-T, but the codec can be MPEG2 or MPEG4 for HD.

In France, they will start using MPEG4 soon. It is compulsory for all TV sold from January to have an internal DVB-T MPEG4 compatible tuner...

I don't know how B&O will cope with that.

Their BV8 don't have a tuner at all, and the other BVs are not compatible with MPEG4...
