    New BeoPlayer Beta

I know it might be a little early to judge this new software, but i've just downloaded it and the only difference i can see is that there is now small album art thumnails where there used to be icons. Some of the album art is wrong , and it's far too small to be of any use i think.

It's still seems pretty cumbersome to me. It's still in Beta form, so lets hope for some really innovative changes.

    The bang & olufsen website.

There is a link to it in the serenata presentation also.

good luck. I hope you find it more usefull than me.

I used to love BeoPlayer when i had less than 1000 songs on my computer, but now that i have over 5000 (which is still a small collection in comparison to others) i find beoplayer very tiring.

Jazz, Well I have looked on both sites and can't find a link to the software anywhere, I must be blind, can you provide a link to the page? nlb.

It is for the serenata - it gives an iTunes like ability to browse by artwork instead of names. Never use this on iTunes as I find text easier. Looks pretty though!

After several hours trying this beta version I was forced to uninstall it, the thumbnails feature is really nice, and everything look works fine, but the CPU consumption by the beonetmusic.exe wich remains working in memory even when beoplayer is completely shutdown, means that there is clearly a problem with this program in my setup.

My PC has a intel P4 CPU 1.800 MHz, and these are the average levels:

After a complet uninstall of beoport 4.64 software and a full reinstall from the scratch, things are lot better, CPU average level o memory use for beonetmusic.exe program back down to 5% .

Mr Anderson, Seems very strange that we have new BeoPlayer and BeoPort sw but nothing for BeoMedia 1 as yet. Maybe the BM1 product has been droped and there are no more updates in the pipe-line due to the launch of the new BS6. nlb.

    Re: New BeoPlayer Beta

It's only beta and any updates to BM1 are done via BM1 not for user download

Finally I've been forced to unnistall this beta version, the beonetmusic.exe file has some kind of conflict in my setup and wasted all the cpu resources of my pc.

The look of the beoplayer screen was cool though:

Where does it gets the artwork from?

Additional error: BeoPort doesn't see my mapped network drive letter where I have all my digital music on.

    Karel.

The race for quality has no finish line- so technically, it's more like a death march.

    Re: New BeoPlayer Beta

I found it much more stable when I uninstalled, rebooted, installed and then rebooted again.

All my network drives were seen.

I can't see a way of adding your own stations.
