    Question about the Prize Draw

Ok I hope someone can explain this to me:

I always thought you could only enter the monthly prizedraw if you were a gold member or higher.  No contribution, no chance to win.  It seemed only fair.

But then I read the rules of the draw which state that no membership is necessary to enter and win.  Can that possibly be true?  I can scarcely believe that a community as generous as Beoworld, while charging such low dues for membership, could exist and thrive so well.

    Regards,

    L.

Its the same as any competition you see advertised. They all state "no purchase necessary" and you can enter by posting in your name and address. If you want to enter this way it has to be by signed for mail every month so it is cheaper to just join as a gold member.

    Hi Legend

It's to circumvent the need for a Lottery and Gaming Licence - which costs thousands and thousands of pounds we don't have!!

The condition of postal entries being by recorded or signed for are not actually meant to make the process prohibitive financially - it was purely to avoid anyone who made a postal entry questioning wether theirs was entered.  Things get lost in the post, which of course is not my fault - so the sender having proof removes all question.

We don't get many postal entries though - on average around 3-4 a month. Thankfully people see that Gold Membership supports the site, and are happy to help us out.

I'm sure you are wondering if a postal entry has won yet?  No, not yet - and i must say that if one scooped first prize i would not be delighted, but 'rules is rules' and i would abide by them.  I'm not saying i wouldn't press-gang them into joining as a Gold Member in exchange for me despatching their prize though.. Re: Question about the Prize Draw

I think the terms & conditions text size is too big, its supposed to be small print. That would stop the cheapskates Whistle

(Course this is only my opinion and does not reflect the opinion of the Beoworld site, who I am sure is 100% honest and would never even entertain such an idea)
