Hi,

My Beocord 7000 plays and records wonderfully.

After about two hours of playing (or just being on), there is suddenly a loud screeching noise coming from the deck.

Playing does not seem to be affected and the only way to get rid of the sound is to shut the unit down.

Even then the sound continues for a few seconds afterwards 

All functiosn seem to work properly even when the screeching starts.

Most likely in need of lubrication.
It's hard to tell exactly what and where to lubricate without actually having it on the bench.
Could also be a worn bearing in the motor.

The sound seems to have gone away.

Somehow I can't belive that it's worn out, as the unit has not seen more than twenty hours of usage. 

If it happens again, i'll consider opening it up a look for some lubrication points.
