    Beo 4 - Locked - V.TAPE

    Hello everyone,

I'm new in this forum and I hope I will find a response to my question:

    I've got a Beo4 with a Beovision MX buyed on 2002.
I've got also a daughter 15 months aged who likes to play with the Beo4 (I know, It's not a good thing...)

I don't know what key sequence she made but at the moment I've got my Beo4 locked on "V.TAPE" on display
    and keys are not working.

I already tried to remove battery (also with a delay time of 1 hour) but when I place them the Beo4 is again locked on "V.TAPE"

Pressing key random, I saw that if I press "RIPR" and DVD the display switch to DVD, but when I after press any other key the
LCD switch again to "V.TAPE" locking the Beo4.

I hope someone can tell me what is the problem....

    Thank you in adavance....

    Pier Luigi.

    Re: Beo 4 - Locked - V.TAPE

Hi Pier, and welcome to the forum.
It seems likely that the dome foil membrane under your rubber keypad needs  replacing.
You could do this yourself. There are four small screws holding the case together, one is under the label in the battery compartment. When you open it, take care you don't snap the black and red wires. you don't need to disconnect these.
Six hexagon nuts hold the PCB to the keypad including spacers, remember which way up they were.
Take off the PCB and the see-through membrane is visible. A clip holds it to the PCB at the bottom.
Replacements regularly appear on eBay and your dealer will probably have one or can order one for you (He may even fit it free, but don't quote me on that)

    Poor me, never win owt!
