Not wanting to open a can of worms here about speaker cables, but am looking for some advice from more experienced Beoworlders than I.
Having recently moved, I need to re-connect my Beovox Pentas to my Beomaster 8000. Previously I'd been using some 300 strand wire made by Gale at about £2.50 a metre. I was working on the assumption that 150w is a good whack of power, and that some very flimsy wire with about 13 strands wouldn't be up to the job. I wouldn't be happy with a 100w bulb in a table lamp with thin wiring, so made the assumption that the same should go for the pride and joy of my B&O collection.
Problem I've now got is that my new house has 100% laminate flooring downstairs, so there's no way I can hide the relatively thick Gale cabling under any carpets. I've seen some thinner wire marketed as a possible solution to this problem at about £3.50 a metre, but am not sure whether I should go with the weightier stuff. I reckon I could squeeze this stuff under the skirting boards and avoid a quite lengthy and unsightly cable run, but am not sure what the best thing to do would be. Has anyone got any experience they could share to help me make up my mind???
