    MCP 5500 flashing

Has anyone come across this before?

I have a MCP 5500 which works but the displays flash continuously Confused It wasn't doing this a few days back but has now decided to develope this strange fault. I haven't looked too deeply into the problem yet and I'm hoping it is a programming solution or something similarly simple. This isn't mentioned in the user manual anywhere as far as I can see.

    Chris.

It is indeed an indication of low batteries.

Pop new ones in and all will be fine!

Thanks guys - this did occur to me and I have tried 3 different sets (although none of them were brand new). I'll buy some new ones and give it a whirl, sounds about right as I know these things are notorious for devouring batteriesIdea

Use Duracel Chris, all those bunnies can't be wrong? You might also check the connectors for corrosion etc.The MCP (inevitably?)has a rather sophisticated standby supply circuit, that can confuse the issue, and suggest low batteries.I've had some panels over the years that seem to "eat" batteries, due to various internal maladies.

Try some new batt's first tho'

    Regards,

    Nick
