    Hmm [^o)] TV picture adjustments

Lately, I am changing the picture settings on my BV7 all the time, but I am never happy with the result. Most of the time, I think that the image is to dark, but if I add more brightness, it is too bright for some programms, if I add more colour add take away brightness, I dont like the colours...

Is there any trick or a specific DVD I can use to set it up in the right way. I know that somehow it is a question of taste, but there must be a reference that could guide me?!

You can try the DVE Digital Video Essentials disc  http://www.videoessentials.com/index.php (DVD/HDTV-calibrator for Pro users )

Plus you can increase the master contrast in the service menu. (but on your own risk)

I can mail you a test DVD. Just 5 MB. But good enough. You need a DVD burner.

    Let me know via PM.

There is also tests to calibrate on every THX certified DVD. Most of the time if you click the THX logo in the sound setup.

I think perhaps the reason you are neevr happy with the result is more to do with the LCD technology than anything else and how LCD makes the picture.

If you increase brightness you lose the black( or grey levels) and the nature of lcd is that yellow and red are very vibrant. No amount of calibration will change the nature of the beast. Sounds like plasma would more suit your ideal
