    BeoSound 9000 and BeoPort

I have finally decided to start using PC with B&O. I have hesitated to convert to MP3 format but finally gave up.
So I decided to purchase BeoPort/BeoLink and get it connected

This may have been covered before but I could not easily find straight forward answers.

    1. BeoPort connected to BeoSound 9000 with Master Link cable in the Same room. No IR eye to BeoPort. No other link connections to BS9000
    2. Options are set on BeoPort to serve as Master, BS9000 slave.

    Question:
Can I fully control BeoPort vie BS9000, and will display of BS9000 will display track/album info?

    Thanks in advance

    Re: BeoSystem 9000 and BeoPort

Gotta bump this back to the top as someone is bound to know!

I'm no expert with PC2/Beoport, but i seem to think what you want to do is feasible. However, it's not my strong point as i've never got into it - but i'm sure someone will advise. Smile

    Re: BeoSystem 9000 and BeoPort

Beoport would be set to the default option possibly 6. The Beoport will not act as the audio master in this case. It can on specific setups only.

The BS9000 will need to be upgraded to handle N.Music or be a MKIII version. In this setup the Beoport acts as a slave but receives its commands from the audio master BS9000 via masterlink..

No track detail from the Beoport will display on the BS9000. The Beoport Mac version may help on the display front I've heard.

I looked at a similar setup though it just seems to restricted unless you work directly from the PC.

This information is based on conversation to a sales representative as I wanted a similar setup to yourself. I have no actual experience setting this up. I would gladly welcome corrections as I have no access to digital musice myself...

    beoaus,

You are absolutely correct that I will need BS9000 MKIII or modification to handle N.MUSIC
Apparently my BS9000 is MKII. So this would be first step

    Thank you for you comments!
