Hi,
I have for the last ten
and a half years, been the happy owner of an Avant VHS Dolby Pro Logic 28".
The VHS was replaced twice under the guarantee, and I had to buy a new chassis
four years ago. The VHS stopped working a few years ago, and the screen has now
red "blinds", further more my Pioneer DVD finds a hard time deliver
picture and sound to the system: first it was connected through the scart, but
eventually I had to use the component (? red/yellow/white). When using the
scart, the picture was either green or there was only one channel of sound. Now,
after almost a year with the component (?), I have to pull the cables -again-
to get the right picture and sound. This I find very strange. I tried to connect the DVD through the VHS scart, but it's not
working. Anyway, as you
can imagine, a replacement is well over due - but as many in this forum, I have
been waiting for the right product: preferably a Beovision 7 BS3 32". So
while I'm waiting, I came across a used V8000 for DKK 500,- (euro 67,- / £
45,-). I have no idea (yet) how old it is, but it's working. I can buy one at a
2nd hand dealer www.bbuy.dk for DKK 2.000,- including 2 years guarantee - but
as you might guess, I do not want to spend to much money, as it will be a
temporary solution. We do record a lot of TV programmes to view later - usually
the same week.
Now the question: can I
connect an external V8000 through the original VHS scart, and get the same
comfort? Will it work? The weird version of this question: can a buy a DVD2 or
HDR2 and make it work through the VHS scart (remember the other scart has a bad
connection)? Oh, forgot to tell: the third scart is used for satellite.
Wow: what a long story...
Regards Danny
