    MCL help required

hello folks - hope i'm not digging up an old topic - i did a search first but couldnt come up with the correct answers.

I have an MCL 2A unit and a Beocenter 8500, currently i'm running Redline RL45.2's from the speaker 1 socket.

the MCL 2A kit i bought only comes with the cable between the IR reciever and the wall box but not for the stretch between it and the beocenter!

I just need to know where i can get the 4 pin din connectors so i can connect up some 4 core cable between the beocenter and the MCL unit! i've looked everywhere online but can't find anywhere which will sell the correct 4 pin din connectors that i need - or do i need to use genuine B&O MCL cable? if so where can i get some from? do the dealers still stock it and is it very pricey?

also, will it affect the sound quality of my redlines - i'm planning on using CX50's in the link room and next year hope to replace the redlines with Beolab 8000's (have a bit of saving to do until then!)

Your dealer should be able to get the plugs for you. I attach a picture. As you can see, you actually use 3 pin plugs. The right and left are important to differentiate as the third pin carries different information in each! The wiring diagrams can be found on www.Beotech.co.uk - part of this site.

I would suggest getting the B&O cable as it it has lots of shielding and seems good quality. I am afraid I gave the last of mine away literally yesterday!

Type 1 - Standard two pin speakers connections used for passive speakers.

Type 2 - MCL connections for use in an MCL setup.

Type3 - Speakerlink connections. Penta 1 and Penta 2 for example.

Take a look at the following links for what wires do what.
