    Beosound 2 replacement aluminum parts

Is it possible to replace the casing of the beosound 2? There are scratches and i am not sure how else you'd be able to get the Beosound 2 looking gorgeous again,

     Cheers

Your dealer can order replacement parts Big Smile

I've done it couple of months ago. Fairly easy to do. 1 remark though! The first thing you need to do is remove the connector socket at the bottom (which I didn't do first). Then unscrew the 2 screws in the SDcardholder. Twist both parts and it'll open up easy! If the soccet connector is still in place it's impossible to open it up.

A manual was not provided with my replacement case.. but I saw last week that it's available here :-)

From experience, many dealers in the UK are unwilling to order spare parts, especially where the part number is unknown. Some will not order spare parts at all!

You are very lucky to have an accomodating dealer.

Instructions on how to dismantle in attachment

Be careful... these are the instructions on how to replace the battery. You do not need to unscrew the battery. Only the 3 screws on the 6th drawing will do! Also... if you don't want to scratch your BS2 when doing the replacing then do the assembly on a towel of soft cloth.

Anyway.. this is what you get when a BeoSound 2 drops from a hight of 2 meters on a concrete floor...

What does the electronics look like? Any 'made in...' stickers!?

Can't remember if there was a "Made in..." sticker... but a friend who's deep into fine elecronics said that the internals were definitly high standard... not some fast solded "Made in China" quality..

Unfortunatly at the moment we replaced the internals I didn't have my cam with me...

You got it David! I'll happily be keeping my BS2; hasn't dated (other than memory wise) in 3 years of having mine! Get used to people asking you what it is. From experience you can answer absolutely anything and people will believe you - have the A8s unplugged though.

Oh and don't listen to cruel people like Peter who tortures his BS2 as a paper weight.

Re: Beosound 2 replacement aluminum parts

One time when I was running to get to a lecture a few years back, and plugging the headphones in, mine fell out my hand and fell down 4 feet of concrete steps. One tiny dent, hardly noticable, and it's still working perfectly now and still looks awesome. I doubt an ipod would have faired so well

    Hehe thanks Henry, we agree!

My ipod nano - 1st generation - has been THRASHED. I've really bashed it about, dropped it off a balcony once! I have never had a malfunction. It's a tough little thing, but it's boring & ugly, i want to be different & envied! Smile

    Thanks for the pictures.

Saw a frontless BS1 some time ago.
