    Re: Attica

    That is a very good price on your newly purchased Attyca 1.

    Even if there are problems, the good news is it can be completely restored, right down to the small Bang & Olufsen decal. I saw an Attyca 1 in Germany restored to a white gloss-finish, which although not being the original matte surface, was stunning nonetheless.

    I recall first seeing this in Struer a few decades ago with the then new 5000 series system. This is a well-engineered stand, still modern and good looking enough to display a Beosound 1, Beosound 4, or a Beosound 5 very well.

    Totally agree, got several Attyca's 2 who are to be nominated for restoration in pure white or maybe a completely different color or a combination?

    Re: Attica

    Nidul;

    While you wait for your Attyca to arrive, a few suggestions.

    When it arrives, check the strength of the stand platforms. Look for potential soft areas, in addition to the general surface condition. The hollow recess for cables in the back should be examined too, and cleaned out as necessary.

    The hollow metal leg or foot should be examined for rust, unevenness, or being attached poorly over time. Generally the foot is placed just in front of the mains/power wall socket to concel the mains connection. That may or may not determine where you wish to place the Attyca.

    I see you have a BeoVision MX1500 in your collection. Might it be displayed on your new Attyca ?

    Are you sure the hollow part is metal, mine is plasticHmm. The round base where the hollow pole stands on is metal.

    Re: Attica

    Quite right.

    I meant hollow leg with the metal foot.

    I'm in the process of moving over between a PC to an 2011 IMAC and still getting aquainted with the WIFI keyboard. As a matter of fact we first placed the newly arrived IMAC on our Attyca 2, just out of the carton to take a look at it. A bit too low to work with, but it did look good there.
