And driving the car with your Nikes on, taking a glance at your Rolex while listening to your ipod music in the car ...
... hard to beat!

One weird thing about this "cool" list - how is Google cool, as a brand? You can't wear it, there's no Google badge on your tech equipment and most people wouldn't think "wow cool" when they discuss Google.
And surely most people on the street associate Google with the search engine.
So how does the brand become cool?

I have no idea...
Most of these lists are purely made up by someone IMHO.

As mentioned in a recent post I think it's a group of arty types in roll necks, drinking sparkling mineral water, flicking through magazines..

They also give everyone free e-mail, free picture hosting, web apps, and the best search engine in the world..
I give my kids free food, free clothes, computers, phones - and the best cuddles in the world..
However - apparently, i'm not cool.

Give them time to mellow on you !!
First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*

And when your grandkids come along you can join me as a 2nd coming cool dude.
I was never cool as a parent but apparently creaking joints & expelling groans when standing up is the latest in uber cool
(personally I think being an on - tap unpaid babysitter is the real reason)
The use of metaphors should be avoided like the plague. They're like a red rag to a bull to me.

What a great idea!
Right. Let's be having some suggestions. Once I've got 50 or so brands, i'll launch a poll and we can have our own 2011 Cool Brands list..

air-headedness of "cool lists" aside, Google's as cool as any of the others. They have a reputation in the USA...
But this list was based on UK people from the street. I can 100% asure you that most of them do not understand what "Google" is as a brand, what they are like as an employer or anything else.
Plus a search engine would never be regarded as "cool" by anyone I know. No-one.
Which is why I questioned the UK-based survey.

are we having all/any brands or consumer oriented brands ?
for example IBM is a well recognised brand but I don't think its stirs any hearts on these forums
