Beocentre 2200 connect to external amp ??

I have just inherited a beautiful Beocentre 2200 from my mum. It looks great but one of the speakers has blown. I have a Yamaha amp which we use for our other music system and I wouldlike to connect my Beocentre 2200 directly. Is there a way to do this ? Can I get a unamplified signal from my Beocentre ? I have heard that the phono output is not the best solution.

Does anyone have any suggestions ?

    Thanks

    Hello Rob,

Congratulations with your new Beocenter. I would suggest you to get the amplifier of the unit fixed for best performance and better user value. You can use the phones output, I use it myself for interconnecting Beomasters and it actually sounds fine.

A more technical solution is to use an RCA cable and take the output from the preamplifier through the "tape record/line Out" plugs. This will bypass the Equalizer and volume control.

The Beocenter 2200 is japanese made and not of the best quality, I have owned a 2100 which is pretty much the same, without the turntable. The amplifier is average, and loudness is always on, as far as I could remember. It is a fine entry B&O model which might as well could have been in a different case and have a "Sony" or "JVC" bagde on it.
