Hi everyone,when using my beogram 5500 record deck i have to turn the volume up higher to get the same output as my cd player and tape deck,eg,volume on cd 16,volume on record deck needs to be 26 to get roughly the same output.

is this normal or do i have a problem,many thanks glen.

This is quite normal.

The output from a MMC cartridge is roughly 60% of what you might expect from a conventional moving magnet cartridge  which results in your increase in amplification to achieve the same sound level.
