    Beocenter 9500 multiple rooms

Question for all the 9500 people.....

I'm wanting to run Pentas off the Powerlink in the room with the 9500.......then

I'd like to take the speaker level outs to some speakers in another room....

This leaves me with 2 questions...

    1) Can the speaker level (internal amp) of the 9500 be controlled separately from the Powerlink (low level outs)?? How??

    2) Does the 9500 have an IR imput in...that I could connect another IR imput???...say and put this second IR imput in the second room??

    Thanks all...

I am sorry to say this as I do try to be as helpful as possible, but you have now posted over 175 times, almost always asking questions that would be answered completely if you joined as a silver member and downloaded the manuals. The MCL Handbook would be very useful in setting up the systems that you have mentioned as would the Product Configuration Guide.

In answer to the questions  above:

    1. No, the volume in a passive link room will relate to the volume in the master room though the master room need not be on.

    2. What you need is a MCL2A which provides the IR eye for the second room.

    Could not agree more...

This thread reminded me of an interesting question of technology that I have been wondering: is the output level information of a speakerlink connection a data or a power type of one (with modern terms)?

Speakerlink carries data as well as signal but not as much as Powerlink. Look at the system manual 89-90 for a diagram on page 7-3. You can find the manual, which is superb, here.

    Thanks Peter,

very comprehensive document indeed! The fact that speakerlink seems to be driven with the power from the amp was interesting. I have seen several MCL2 douments but this was definately the best.
