    Beolab 2500 vs beolab 2000

Hi all, I have a beolab 2000 in my dining room would I gain anything if I purchased a pair of beolab 2500's off a mate and put them in its place?  Cheers Nick

If Nick can't supply, I have a 2000 here in France - I return Nth Worcs very early May.

Let me know as I have to travel up to Sheffield in May(via M42/M1 etc)

Yeah, and a big one. The 2000 is a Masterlink speaker, the 2500's are powerlink-connected.

So you will need an extra Beolink active to connect the 2500's via Masterlink. The only other Masterlink speaker I know of is the BL3500.

Soundwise I can't comment as I've never heard the 2000's.

Re: Beolab 2500 vs beolab 2000

Owned them both and while the bl2000 have the advantage of being a (goodlooking) masterlink compatible link speaker it clearly lacks bass. I think you will find the sound of the bl2500 much better. The bass has always impressed me given the size of the speakers. That being said, I find them a bit hard to place on their own without the BS3000/3200/2500/ouverture.

    Inflagrante
