You can use speakerlink with MkI or speakerlink or Mk2 powerlink with Penta II or III

    Re: 9500 connected to Pentas...

I would recommend Penta 3's because they are the latest. Penta 1 and 2 have speakerlinks. To my knowledge BC9500 does not have speakerlink but powerlink instead. BC9000 has speakerlinks.

To get the display right you need the fully connected powerlink cable (the old thick one). That is working nice with my BS6500 and Penta 2's, which are from the same timeperiod than your BC9500.

Thanks for the info...so MKII  Powerlink cables to the Pentas....if they are Penta I's, i'll have to use the converters at the speakers to convert the Powerlink MKII to speakerlink and RCA... i believe???

I'm waiting on the shipment of the 9500 now...and another question...for my TV sound in...does it have RCA inputs?? or will i have to use a DIN (input) to RCA converter..

What I usually do when I have a question about what kind of inputs a system has is first check the user guide. It's available from both this site as well as bang-olufsen.com

Just DIN sockets.  Works best with a Beovision as it offers AV integration but I realise that this is not available in the US.

    Penta I use speakerlink

Penta II can use speakerlink OR Mk2 Powerlink

Why complicate things with an adapter????

The BC9500 has both speakerlink and powerlink outputs so you can choose either.

I suggest that you go for Penta III. Earlier models will almost certainly have rotten mid range drivers. Having said that, the midranges could be rotten in III's as well so just factor in an additional £250 + to replace them.

    Regards Graham
