Making a Beolink Passive out of a MCL-2P and a Beolink Converter

I have one of each of these things and I was wondering whether this would work - my house is all ML now, but when I used by Beosystem 2500, I needed initially the MCL-2P to connect it to speakers - then the Beolink Converter to connect the 2500 into a ML network.

These two things though, could they be used together instead of a Beolink Passive so that I could drive some passive speakers (say in the garden) from my ML-based system?

replace the converter with an active, that works and you have the eye to control the speakers

Yes, that would work.... Not sure if it is worth the bother though!
