Beolink 5000: will it work with Beosound 1? what other remotes?

I recently purchased a Beosound 1 fr my office: a great deal for a euro model out of Vienna: slight damage during shipping, but it'll be hidden anyway.

I know my Terminal 3300 works with my Beomaster 3300 and Beosystem 3200: will a Beolink 5000 work with a Beosound 1 and what other remotes will work with the Beosound 1?

All I really care about as far as functionality with the Beosound 1 is volume, mute and possibly radio and CD preset changing.

    Thanks in advance

You should be able to use your BeoLink5000 with your Beosound 1 -IF you set the Beolink to 1-way communication.

I can see you're a gold-member, so you should just download the manual for the Beolink 5000 (if it's there -I can't remember)Hmm

Otherwise -I will try and find my manual, so I can tell you how...

A Beo 4 would perfectly match,
even an old  BeoLink 1000 will deliver all requested basic functions.
    To control a BeoSound 1 via a BeoLink 5000 you'll have to set the BL5000 to "one-way-mode".
(This procedure will be necessary every time you're exchanging batteries)

Thnaks, all: to clarify: I am looking to purchase a remote, and to do so economically as possible.  Beolink 5000 came up on hte auction radar, so why not??

    Much appreciated

I don;'t own the BL 5000: I'm curious  about whether this or which other remotes would work with a Beosound 1: the service manual and owners manual for the Beosound 1 only lists the Beo4 as a remote.  I was curious if other remotes would work with the system.

Considering the manual for the 5000 was printed years before the Beosystem was available, I'm sure it wouldn't list the BS1 as a compatible system without the use of  atime machine fo the printer!

    thanks!

The Beolink 5000 is such a fragile and therefore unreliable device that I would only consider it if it was free.

Get a Beolink 1000 if you want a low cost, reliable remote. Drop it and it will dent your floor but not break. Definitely the easiest to use.

Get a Beo4 if you are more afluent but it wont perform any more functions than the 1000 and will break if you drop it.

They will all work with Beosound 1

I'll keep my eyes peeled for something.....can an A9 keyring be programmed so that the three buttons are volume up, volume down, mute or stop?  That would work, too.

I could always bring in one of my Beocom 6000 phones that I'm not currently using, too!  lol

LOL ... A9 for Radio on/off and a BeoCom 6000 for volume control would work - if you prefer to make your live
a bit more complicated Big Smile
