    Avant as link TV

Replacing an LX5500 with an Avant 32 DVD as a link room TV. Is the 1611 converter the correct piece of kit to go from the MCL2AV box to the Avant? Master is a BV8-40. I am also using a 1611 between this and a BC9500 and all works fine. Just checking it will work in the other direction (MCL to ML).

Both the BV8 and the Avant have ML (not sure if ML is standard fitted in BV8, no idea). So just a ML cable should do the job.Less distortion as the signal comes directly from the BV8 in stead of via the amplified and downforced MCL.

Its always possible to keep the 1611 for the BC9500.

This would be a big task to rewire with ML. I know what you're saying about the sound being amplified etc with MCL but The LX works well in the setup and the sound quality is excellent from video and audio sources. To simply put in another 1611 is much easier. I've already bought one now so hope it works! Thanks for your reply!

Works perfectly. The Avant does not show up as a link TV option using MCL in the PCG, but this proves it is possible to go from ML to MCL and use an ML product in a link room (using two 1611 converters).
