Taking a saw to a Beocenter

Don't know whether this 2006 article has been highlighted before........ looks like a tragic end to a Beocenter!

It's been posted a few times before Graham, I quite like the end product. At one time I was planning to build a touchscreen jukebox. My plan was to strip an old PC and rebuild it into a Beosat casing, the touchscreen was to be housed in an MX2000. Never got round to it in the end. Id still like to do something like that. Just need to find the time though now.Laughing

I saw a similar MP3 thingy built into the drawer of a Beocord 5000, forming
a nice addition to the 5000 system.
    Practically a laptop with a large touch-screen.

I have always wanted to do something similar. I am always thinking of neat things to do with old Beo. Never acted on an idea yet, I want to really badly but, like you Craig, have no time!

There was a post which may haved been on an old version of beoworld. Where someone had put a MP3 player in place of the cassette in a Century/Beosound 2000. Looked really good too.

Recently my favorite is the iPod touch placed horizontally into the BeoSound Overture tape deck area.

I agree,  The website was posted on this forum a while ago.
Now there's and idea for updating the current BS3200. Everyone still loves the design, so it would be easy (and cost effictive) for B&O to finally update it along those lines.

I would want one of those to replace my Ouverture.....

Still would love to strip my old 80ies beocord5000 deck and build-in my mac-mini, another HD, hdmi switcher and lintronics box....
Just to clean up some of the boxes and wires dangling all over the place behind the tv.
The damn beocord just won't die, sounds fantastic and is the only deck left to play some old tapes we got.

Maybe I'll just have to buy another beocord of ebay or something....

Oh I like people who are brave enough to hack B&O in such a way! IMO as long as it isn't a rare item customisation should be encouraged! DVD player in a Beocenter 9500 anyone?? I have a great idea for my 2400 when I eventually get some of the bits I need :)
