Any suggestions what to buy for my new BV10

    Hi,

I am doubt about about how to get a digital STB a HD(D)recorder and Blue Ray player combined in best way with my new BV10

Dealer will install all, so that's not the problem. I just do not know what to choose ...

    Alternative 1

STB with HD(D) coming from provider and seperate BR

--> problem: STP is locked to provider and useless when choosing another one or moving. Also they costs ca 200euro (Telia, Sweden) and this is potential money down the drain? Angry

    Alternative 2

STB and seperate BR with build in HD(D)

--> problem: which BR to choose, and are there any recording issues to expect since it is not linked to the provider sending the TV signal

    Alternative 3

STB and seperate BR and seperare HD(D)

--> it will be crowded on the backframe of the TV Smile

    All help is welcome.

    Thanks

I would go for alternative 1 - also the one I have opted for myself. 200 EUR does not seem that much compared to the price for the BV10. You will also be able to watch one channel and record another one at the same time which could be a problem if you have a separate HDD without digital tuner. Beware however that Telia requires that you have a fiber connection rather than ADSL if this should be possible.

Since Telia does not supply digital tv via ordinary cable I am not sure whether an in-built DVB-HD is an option or not.

    Hi Emil,

Thanks for the good advice. I am not sure how Telia will hook up the digital tv. So if I understand you correct the HD(D) recorder is of less use when the digital TV is feeded by 'just' ADSL?

Correct! My parents who makes use of the Telia box via ADSL learned that the hard way... You mentioned in another thread that you had a couple of analogue channels availabe via ordinry cable as well so you would however be able to watch those channels and record a digital one at the same time.

One cool thing with the Telia box is that you can have your iPhone to trigger a recording should you not be home when the program begins or if you have forget to set the recording timer.

More info about the bo in the link below (

    Hi Emil,

Thanks again, the Motorola VIP 1963 is ordered (via Telia) and next to that I have choosen a Samsung BDC7500W (real flat) Blu Ray.

All will be conne ted and mounted to BV10 (stand) by the guys of B&O.

I am looking forward how all will work out, but the dealer was very confident and to him and his guys this was an 'easy peasy' job
