    Help with Beovox 1200

    Hi folks

I am busy restoring a pair of two-way Beovox 1200's that someone has messed with previously.

My query concerns the colour coding of the wiring:

    Purple and white for tweeter

    Red and Black for woofer

Could someone please tell me which of these are positive and which are negative? They were wired differently in each speaker and I need to get the phasing correct.

    Thanks for the assistance,

    Doogle

    Welcome to the forum!

If you still have them together with the wires crossed, I believe the wrong one would be rather obvious after just listening to them.

Alternatively, the negative wires are almost certainly connected together at the crossover and with the negative pole (spade) of the DIN connector. I'd expect the black be negative to the woofer, but there's not much trusting anything if some disorganized person has been in there before.

Thanks, will have a look at the crossovers..... no reference as the wires have been cut with Din plugs removed  :-(

OK, black and white wires are together at the crossover, with the red and purple leaving after the components! Thanks, solved the problem!  :-) Doogle
