    Help with DVD controller

    Hi,

I have a problem with my dvd controller and a new Philips DVD player.

My DVD controller is MKII and the type number is 4046.

The DVD player is a Philips, type DVP 3040 connected to a BV3.

All daily using functions seems to be working from the Beo4, but the only, and most important feature, activating or placing it in to standby does not work. I have made the setup with V.SETUP to 00 ((philips dvd 950) 03,04,09 and 13 gives me no commands at all) and 2 (for the TV set).

Any suggestions what could be wrong.

Yes, I kown my spelling is horrible… Huh?

The problem here is that unlike B&O, Philips controllers do not use standard codes for all their models. The DVD controller is simply sending out the wrong code because the code you have entered is telling it to send out a particular code the DVD does not recognise. If it is any consolation, mine is a little flaky too!

    Re: Help with DVD controller

    How about "GO + STOP"?

    Gerd:

No Gerd, nothing happens when I do that. But right now I can not try further (wife is looking series  Sad ) Hope the number 2 is correct for the BV3 set.

I will have a look tomorrow how many commands are working in total. Peter is correct, Philips is changing IR commands on every new model. But I wanted a divx player at a cheap price, the market is changing so rapidly so spending €70 is more than enough.

Any suggestions on another new player that works perfect with the DVD controller ? And don't dare to tell me B&O please, lol

    I used this list:

    Konvertierungstabelle /Code-Liste
    02 Onkyo DV-S525
    06 Panasonic DMR-E50
    07 Panasonic DMR-E53/DMR-E55
    01 Panasonic DVD-A360
    16 Panasonic DMR-EH54D
    00 Philips DVD950
    03 Philips DVDR70/DVDR75
    04 Philips DVDR80
    09 Philips VR200
    13 Philips HDRW720
    05 Pioneer DVDR-3100
    15 Pioneer DVR-530H/DVR-630H
    08 Sony RDR-GX3/RDR-GX7
    17 Sony RDR-HX1010
    18 Sony RDR-GX210

Yes, I kown my spelling is horrible… Huh?

I use a Panasonic DMR-EH60D with the codes from the 54D. Most things seem to work! Even through the AVX2!

    Re: Help with DVD controller

    Thanks for the nice replies.

The controller is very functional with the player, I can use all regular commands, apart from putting it on and off.

But I can live with that shortcoming. Next time I buy a DVD player, I will take a better look, maybe asking to try it first at home.

Hello Chris, I bought 2 years ago a €90 Philips DVD player type DVP 5100 (Divx) for my avant (almost exactly the same as yours), and of course I tried the DVD controller MKII with all the codes: but with NO success at all (the B&O technician tried too)... after what I'm still forced to use the rubbish original remote Super Angry

So finally I think you're a lucky man after all Wink
