If you are interested in an unusual B&O-item – this might be something for you:
For sale is a very rare Bang & Olufsen Stereo Test Record (in Danish: B&O stereofoni-prøveplade)
The record is 7” / 45 rpm and named “Surrounded by music” (in Danish: Omringet af musik).
It introduces the Stereo phenomenon to the listener through a number of musical examples – and must have been made when “Stereo” was rather unknown to the consumer.
It’s recorded in the Decca Studios, London (probably in the late 1950’s/early 1960’s).
From the picture of the back you should be able to read the musical examples and artists involved.
The songs and speak are in Danish language – B&O was a domestic oriented company at that time.
To my knowledge this is the only record B&O ever made, which makes it quiet unique.
Furthermore it’s a very time typical example of how B&O wanted to entertain and educate their customers / the public.
If you understand the Danish language I’m sure you’ll be amused when you hear the way the language was spoken fifty years ago (e.g. by the famous Danish singer Katy Bødtger).
The record plays well with only a little surface noise and few “clicks” – nothing that affects the playability.
The cover looks excellent with only minor wear on the edges. Total playing time app. 10:15
I’m asking EUR 25 plus shipping (Denmark: 3 EUR / Europe: 5 EUR / World: 7 EUR).
