Question with BeoMaster 7000 and Low Volume Problem

    Hi there,

I'm new to this forum and also B & O, and I seem to have run into some roadblocks. I recently aquired bits and pieces of a beautiful beosystem 7000. Here are the parts that I have:

    -Beomaster 7000

    -Beogram cd 6500

    -Master Control Panel 6500

    -Beolink 1000 remote

    -2 pin Din plugs

-5 pin Din plug to RCA plugs

Through some research I have been able to "reset" the beomaster so that it will respond to beolink and the MCP. Unfortunately, no matter how high the volume setting, I can barely hear anything. I have the 2 pin dins wired to go to my RCA speakers, the plug in the back of the beomaster is for a 4 pin din, but I can't seem to be able to see those for sale anywhere (4 pin din to speaker wire..does that exist?). Is it normal to attach non beo speakers to these receivers? Can you use the 2 pin plugs in a beomaster 7000?

Also, I'm concerned that its something else entirely because when I plug headphones into the front jack, I still cant get much volume at full blast. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

If you look at the back of the Beomaster, there is a socket marked Line in/out. It should have a dummy plug in it. Is it there?

2 pin plugs are fine for normal speakers - the 4 pin plugs are for multi-room control - the plugs are available from your dealer.

    Hi Peter,

I pulled the Dummy plug while investigating a while back, is it necessary?

I do hope you weren't listening to the Beomaster "at full blast with headphones" after replacing the dummy plug!

What I really like about BeoWorld is how solutions to problems usually appear in a flash.
