BeoCenter 9500 and Beolab 3500 Compatibility

    Hello friendly forum denizens,

I am the proud and happy owner of a Beocenter 9500 and am contemplating adding a BeoLab 3500 to my setup.
Are the newer Beolab 3500 models backwards compatible?

As far as I could find out the Beocenter 9500 only supports MCL whereas the BeoLab 3500 supports ML?
Can I buy any Beolab 3500 or do I need to buy the older LCS 9000 version?

    Many thanks for your help,
    Michael

    Michael,

welcome to Beoworld. I recommend a Beolink converter 1611 to get your BC9500 Masterlink ready. Maybe you want to add other ML products like Beovision, BL2000, Beolink active.... in future. You just need a 7pin Datalink cable, a 1611 converter and a Masterlink cable to connect the BL3500. Should work with all BL3500s...If you are using a two way remote - Beolink 5000/7000- to control your BC9500, it won`t work with BL3500 unless you set it to one way.
