    Tempting

Seriously tempted to trade-in my December 2009 BV7-40 MKIV: http://www.sony.co.uk/hub/tradein?cid=15014292

This is a decent Sony TV. Good design. I wonder what Sony will say when I try and trade-in the BV7-40? :)

Hi Moxxey, I have just gone for a Samsung UE55C8000.  Now is the time to get rid of the MK4, before the MK5 comes out and residual values are hit!!

    Re: Tempting

That's a pretty decent TV, Ian. What do you use for speakers? B&O is as much about the audio quality as it is video. In fact, more so.

I am sure Sony will take the BV7. However I will give £160 instead of the £150 they are offering in trade in! Laughing

As a Brit, Peter, surely you saw the irony in the post? No?

Indeed. I do quite like that Sony TV. Pretty reasonable design. The aluminium base looks fairly 'cheap' in comparison to B&O standards, though. I genuinely did think of flogging my BV7-40 and buying it - I'd walk away with £4000 in my pocket, too :)

Those are really nice but when you choose B&O, it's like driving an Aston Martin DB9, you wouldn't trade it for a BMW M3, don't you ? Stick out tongue

Depends how 'greedy' you want to be in life. An M3 is a damned fine car!

I've just watched a programme on the factories and lives of the people who make a lot of our electronic products, in the Far East. Whilst we debate whether we want to dumb down to an M3, they are lucky if they earn £2 a day and see their kids more than twice a year...

    It's all so wrong.

Hi again Moxxey, don't get me started on the inequalities and injustices of the world or I'll never stop!

You asked what I am using for audio - if you look at the site I have just bought the last three pairs of Anthony Gallo Reference 3.1 speakers, am selling two pairs and keeping one - these are being driven by a Yamaha RVX1065 amp (all stuff is HDMI 1.4 Compliant) and am using a Behringer Reference amp to drive the sub inputs on the Gallos.  No centre speaker for the moment, if I do opt for one then I will go over to using the pre-outs exclusively on the amp - you can drive your B&O speakers in line mode from the Yamaha, which also has a 12v trigger for bringing to life a B&O centre if you wish.

The Gallo's are superb - a bit like Marmite though with looks, treble is astonishingly good, at the very least on a par with Acoustic Lens based speakers.

Nice to hear someone mention these wondeful speakers!

My non B&o media room uses the Nucleus currently. Amazing speakers!

They are so good that I am probably going to use them for the center and surrounds in a new room in the works tied to a BV4 and BS1 w/ ML amps.

Have you tried the Reference Centre too?  IMHO if ML amps refers to the Passive or MCL2P then you can get away with far more performance for much less cost with the Behringer A500 tied to a Yamaha Receiver as above, but if using a BS1 I still think you can use the Behringers........

No, I haven't... I currently use a single Gallo Micro. Seems underkill, but what an impressive little speaker! I love it for its stealthiness. I may use a paired set in the new room.

Thanks for the lead on Behringer... seems well regarded and a great price! Hmmm...
