    Setup question

    Hi,

    my current setup:
BS3000 and BS5 are connected via Masterlink, BS3000 is configured as the master, BS5 is slave.
I want to use "N.Radio" instead of "Radio" when I press Radio on the Keyring or when I touch a Beolab 3500 (who only accesses "Radio" as a default source when you switch it on manualy).

I read that the Beosound 5 can translate "Radio" to "N.Radio" which would solve my problem.

The speakers are connected to the Beosound 3000. Do I have to change the cabling or can the Speakers stay connected to the Beosound 3000?

    How about option programming?

I want to have the following:

    - Press Radio and BS5 starts with N.Radio
    - Change Systemvolume on the BS5 aluring (I just love to touch it) ;-)
    - Use CD of BS3000
    - Use "A.Aux" from BS3000

Is it possible to use the Radio-Function on the BS3000, too or will it be "dead"?

Thank you for your help - and because of my english: I hope it's clear what I want Big Smile

    Re: Setup question

The problem here is that all you really want to change is Radio to work N.Radio. The touching of the BS5 is understandable (!) but you are clearly using the BS3000 because of its connectivity. I wonder if the use of option 4 could be a solution with the BS3000 being used as a LINK product. I am not at home with manuals but you could try running that set up through the Product Configurator.

    Re: Setup question

The ability to translate Radio to N.Radio only works when the BS5 is the audio master (and I think without a BeoVision, you must connect the speakers to the BS5 for it to be audio master).

You can slave the BS3000 to the BS5, but then you cannot listen to BS3000 sources in your link rooms (at least this is how it worked when I tried to "slave" my BS9000 to the BS5 as master... well, now that I think about it, the BS9000 didn't behave well when slaved (non-responsive, sometimes messed up ML completely)... I guess it was my dealer who told me that the BS5 as audio master will not distribute a slave CD, Radio or AUX signal - take this for what it is worth - my dealer is correct about 50% of the time when it comes to BS5).

I also think when you turn on the Radio -> N.Radio translation, this also turns on CD -> N.Music translation.  Although, you may be able to option program so that the BS3000 responds to Link-CD (as well as Link-Radio).

    Re: Setup question

Hhmm, this sounds like a tricky task!? :-)

Sounds as if B&O didn't make their homework on the BS5 to 100%?!

I want to use "CD" and "A.Aux" in link rooms, too.
