    mx7000

    i have recently been given a mx7000 and i am having trouble with the sound, it is distorted, terrible background noise etc, when i run it through a freeview box the sound is fine. i would appreciate any help

    Possibly the NICAM decoder.  Can you try switching it to mono and see if it goes away?

    These can be reapired if you want the NICAM function.

    Shouldnt cost you more than about £30.
