We were shopping on a local ebay style website here in Switzerland and have been able to get a BV4 50 brand new from a dealer for 1/3 of the retail price...

It's just a question but do you think they're planning on discontinuing it since they have the BV7 55 now ??

It doesn't bother us at all as the price was fantastic and it comes with the best centre speaker for our set up.... just an observation.

The dealers in adelaide sold their demo plasma cheap too, i think it was also a 1/3 of the retail price.

Hopefully they don't discontinue it. The BV4 is their only plasma, and they only just recently released the BV4-103

Nope. Not discontinued and probably won't be for a while. My guess is that with all the new TVs that are launching it's a simple issue of making room in the shop. We used to show a 50 and a 65, but have gone to just a 65 due to limited space.

hehe it was a pretty good deal, though I have to add that we have actively been looking for the right one for quite a while.... We didn't really think we would get lucky and get the exact one we were looking for though.

Damn my local dealer over here wants 15.000 euro for a in store demo HD-ready (not full HD) BV9.

Presently, I am not in the market for a Bvis and wont be for a while -EXCEPT of course, if I found one of these awesome deals. My dealer packed up about 6 months ago which has basically limited me to ebay. And lemme tell y'all bout the US ebay B&O market... All the newer stuff is basically 2 or 3 times the price it should be (even when used!).

Anywho.... back to the topic. I am glad a plasma will remain in the BeoVision line up, I personally prefer plasma (The 9 is the absolute pinnacle of B&o acquisition for me).

I just picked up my BV4 50" and the BS3 (along with a BL 7-2) for more than a 60% discount! I asked the dealer if they were discontinuing it from their line and he said they have no plans. He just wanted to make room for the BV10 and the BV 7-55, so he made me a heck of a deal. I am so happy with it, as I wanted to stay with plasma. It replaced a BS1, 42" plasma and BL6000 center.

We've really been wanting a BS3 and we basically paid the price of the BS3 and got the TV and the BL 10 speaker for free. I love a bargain.
