    Beogram RX2 transport

How do I secure the turntable so it doesn't bounce during a move, or do I need to worry about that?

    Welcome to BeoworldSmile

Lift off the platter and there are 3 "discs" with slotted holes. Turn them so you can access the screws below which then need to be screwed out until they clear the discs. Next turn the discs so you can then tighten the crews down onto them. This will lock the floating suspension. Leave the platter off for transporting & also carefully support the tonearm (both under the counterweight at the back & the arm itself) with some foam & secure with tape.

As for the cartridge - there are 2 schools of though. One says always remove a cartridge before transporting which is generally sound advice in most cases. However the MMC* range of cartridges can lose contact with the pins by unplugging them which can result in losing one or both channels & cannot be remedied. Not that this is guaranteed to happen but it has been known. Personally I would leave it on & simply ensure the stylus guard is lowered. As you will be transporting the TT yourself I'm sure there will be no need to remove it.
