    Beocenter 7700, very quiet?!?

    Hello All,

New to the place as I just picked up my first ever piece of B&O kit from a charity shop - A Beocenter 7700. I've got a few problems which I'd like to know I can get fixed before I splash out on a new stylus.

The turntable appears to work beautifully but when I attach speakers and turn it right up the volume is still very low.

Same volume problem with the radio.

The tape deck doesn't appear to run although I can hear the motor, according to older posts this might be the belts?

LCD screen is missing afew lines, but that's not too important.

I'd loved to get it serviced as I think it's a wonderful bit of kit and I'm a total vinyl junkie can anyone suggest a good engineer in the South West of the UK that might be willing to breathe new life into the old girl.

Oh, I was sold it with some type 6504 speakers and brackets (very much worse for wear) which I'm not so interested in. If anyone was willing to pay the postage then they're up for grabs. They're pretty chunky so they won't be cheap to send plus, as I said, they pretty trashed and in need of some serious tlc.

Any help or advice would be well received,

    Thanks.

    Welcome to Beoworld !

Sorry about this, but it's not apparent to all owners that speaker switches are
found under the large aluminum lid.
Still no luck, it may have a muting circuit fault. I've seen this a couple of times, most often
the related opamp itself is at fault.

The tapedeck section will need new belts, that's very common. I can supply belts.

I noticed Nobby had a repair ad up recently, but I'm not sure if he is too far from you.

    Hi Neil,

would love to get her looked at as I am totally besoted with it! Have you had much experience with repairing these units? As I said earlier, the record player and radio work beautifully (not really too concerned with the tape deck) it's just the issue with the low volume, I've tried everything, any thoughts?
