    CX100 center speaker or speakers

I bought a pair of CX100's for center channel off an AV7000. The options are to place one on it's side over the TV or to hang both from the wall (directly touching)...so it looks like 1 speaker and hang them in the normal vertical position. After reading here about mutiple speakers on 1 channel, i'm confident that the amp in the AV7000 would drive both speakers.

The reason i ask is that the better, high end, center speakers by the likes of Klipsch have 2 X 6 1/2 woofers plus tweeters. I'm thinking that the small 4 inch speakers of the CX100's may need help by driving both for a center channel.

For reference, the fronts are Pentas and the rears 8000's...

    Any feedback is appreciated.

    Thanks for having the forum.

I believe others (such as Steve) have run CX100s as a centre channel, it should work fine! As long as you place two as a centre channel, I think you'll get away with it. They play loud enough just as stereo speakers, and seeing as centre channels tend to have to cope more with high peak volumes rather than constant output, I think you'll be fine.

Thanks Alex... so running BOTH is better than running just the 1??

Yes, I would say so. I'd place one on top of the other to avoid comb filtering when listening off axis.
