    Remotely controlling Beomaster 3000?

I have recently purchased a Beomaster 3000.  Hooked up to my RL60.2s it sounds great  It did not come with the Terminal 3000 remote control and I am looking for advice on where to look for one, or if there are other ways to control it remotely (can you program a universal remote?).  Is it possible to update the system to work with newer B&O remotes?

I recently brought a Beomaster 3000. It only works with Terminal 3000 and is not compatible with today's B&O remote codes. Even the Terminal 3300 which looks almost identical to the Terminal 3000 does not work.

I would try eBay - or the place where I got my Terminal 3000 from: http://www.lifestyle-av.co.uk/ It was around 45 GBP, quite pricey but condidtion and their service was outstanding.

Afraid that this correct. You might find a terminel 5000 does something but I would not risk it. Interestingly, the terminal 3300 uses Beolink 1000 codes.

    Re: Remotely controlling Beomaster 3000?

I have noticed that the Beomsater 3300 uses Beolink 1000.  They somtimes come up cheap as not many people find them attractive.  I wonder if it is possible to switch out the remote control compnents?  Definitely a non purist move, but the 3000 looks so much better than the 3300.

Thanks for your input everyone. I will keep an eye on eBay.

The remote control codes are interpreted by the same processor that runs the entire Beomaster. So, it's not a matter of simply swapping the IR receivers,  you would have to swap the processors as well. And that would only work if the other circuitry is the same in both - I haven't looked, but would be surprised if it was that easy.

Probably easier to change all the trim! You would then have a 3300 that looked like a 3000. Or just get a 4500. I agree with you about the looks of the 3300 - what were they on the night that design was signed off! Nasty grey paint and vomit green lights! The 3000 is far better! Unfortunately, the 3300 is much more useful!

    Re: Remotely controlling Beomaster 3000?

I got a lucky break - Brought a Beocord 2000 and it came with a remote for the Beomaster 3000.  Best $20 I have ever spent (of course Dillen helped me get the Beocord on the road to recovery, belts and a motor).

The Beosmaster 3300's can rest, assured I will not be hunting them down for their brains (not their looks).
